
Suzanne Pleshette, born January 31, 1937, passed away January 19, 2008. She was an American film voice actress, TV and voice actor. 1. Pleshette started her acting career in the theatre and then began to appear in films towards the end of the 1950s. Later, she appeared in prominent films such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). Later, she was in various television productions and was frequently acting as a guest. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, from 1972 until 1978 which earned her several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, on January 31 in 1937. The parents of the couple were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was an artist, dancer, and choreographer, who was stage-named Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage director at both the Paramount Theater and Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
