Carey is a former fashion model. She stands almost 5'10" tall and was very popular among high-end American designers, such as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, etc. Her father was a renowned scientist and was awarded the title of Scientist of 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey was raised throughout the world due to her father's career. Following her graduation from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, she started modeling on the side. This caught the eye of a Ford Model Agency New York. She briefly lived and studied in Paris prior to returning back to New York. Her modeling and academic career rocketed and she was featured on the covers of Glamour's and Vogue's and many other magazine covers. In addition to modeling, she went to New York University full-time to obtain a degree in literature. Gradually she became interested in acting and attended the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. She made her acting debut through a tiny role in 'Club Paradise' in 1986 with Robin Williams. She enjoys in wind surfing, skiing as well as rock climbing, and white water rafting.
